Delores Amorelli

Delores Amorelli is an Instructional Designer at Columbia’s School of Professional Studies, where she serves as the primary ID for the Information and Knowledge Strategy (INKS) program and Business Certificates. She collaborates with faculty to design and develop face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses.

Prior to joining Columbia, she served as an Instructional Designer for Faculty Development at Bisk Education in Tampa, FL, where she designed, developed, and facilitated professional development courses for instructors who were transitioning from teaching face-to-face to teaching online. She was also a key member of a cross-functional LMS team that worked to remove impediments to the learning process and to define new ways of offering unique learning opportunities to students and faculty through the creation, and sometimes adoption, of innovative technologies.

Delores has extensive experience working in higher education. She has taught Technical Writing and English Composition at the University of Florida and Developmental Writing at Hillsborough Community College. She has also worked as an Assistant Reference Librarian at the University of South Florida, where she provided students and faculty with both face-to-face and virtual reference services to support their academic research.

Delores holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, with a concentration in academic libraries, and a Bachelor’s degree in English, from the University of South Florida. Her research interests include technology-enhanced teaching and learning, the social and cultural dynamics of collaborative learning in the context of globalization, and the design of experiential learning environments.
