ZOOM
Zoom is the cloud-based HD video conferencing platform technology used at SPS for online class sessions, office hours, and informal meetings. It allows faculty and students to meet via webcam and audio and to easily share screens and content in real time.
There is no need for you to create an account. A Zoom "Pro" account is provided to all faculty who are teaching an online course. Columbia-associated Free accounts are also available to any faculty through SPS.

BigBlueButton
BigBlueButton is a web conferencing technology that is fully integrated with Canvas and is mainly used by students for group work. It is accessed via the "Conferences" link in Canvas, located in the course navigation menu.
Conferences: Moderator Guide. Conferences make it easy to conduct real-time meetings for all users in a course. Conferences allow users to broadcast audio and video, share presentation slides, or demo online resources or applications. These features make this tool ideal for online class sessions, lectures, group discussions, and office hours.

Google Meet
Google Meet is a web conferencing application within Google Workplace, which is provided to all faculty, students, and staff at Columbia University.
