Matthew Emile Vaughan

Matthew Emile Vaughan, PhD, serves as the Associate Director of Instructional Design and Operations at the School of Professional Studies (SPS). Since joining SPS in 2015, Dr. Vaughan has served in various capacities, but all have had to do with the enhancement of teaching and learning across our online programs.

Dr. Vaughan's academic work is interdisciplinary: integrating religious studies and education. His current research focuses on the philosophy of education, specifically exploring the transformative potential of dialogical learning. Dr. Vaughan’s scholarship has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals.

In addition to his work at SPS, he is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Religion, where he currently serves as the Regions Director.
