Julissa Montijo

Prior to joining the SPS Instructional Support team at Columbia University, Julissa spent 14 years working in New York City’s Fashion District, where she developed a strong foundation in customer support, coordination, and strategic communication. She brings this experience into her role as Assistant Director, supporting and overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the Instructional Support team. Having worked across all Instructional Support roles, Julissa offers a comprehensive, hands-on understanding of the team’s workflows and service model.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Julissa is a native New Yorker. She earned her BA in Childhood Education and Sociology from Hunter College.
