Jessica Yen
Jessica Yen is the Assistant Dean of Summer Session and Visiting Student Programs at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies. In this role, she oversees Columbia University’s Summer Session, working in close partnership with Arts & Sciences academic departments to offer more than 300 course sections and serve approximately 2,000 Columbia University undergraduate and graduate students, as well as visiting students from around the world. She also leads academic-year visiting student programs and oversees four certificate programs and three summer-only CPA programs.
Jessica brings over 14 years of experience in higher education. Prior to joining Columbia, she held multiple roles at Johns Hopkins University across admissions, recruitment, and marketing. Her experience includes work in the A&S Summer and Intersession office, followed by a transition to the JHU Carey Business School during its AACSB accreditation period. While serving as Marketing Manager in the Global Communications Department, she led the development of integrated marketing plans for the School’s flagship MBA program. In these roles, she traveled extensively both domestically and internationally, including annual participation in the Business School’s signature trip to China alongside the Dean, where she represented the Admissions Department.
Jessica earned her BA in Advertising/Public Relations from Penn State University (We Are!) and her MA in Communication (Health concentration) from Johns Hopkins University. She is passionate about global education and values opportunities to connect with students and faculty from around the world.
